Rooftops

Porta – 135 Newark Ave

One of my favorite summer spots, enjoy a yummy drink on this rooftop bar! I always get the Strawberry Beer, so delicious and refreshing. During the summer they have various events and live music on the rooftop so follow them on social media to stay up to date. The rooftop is great for drinks and dinner, keep in mind on weekends and hot summer nights it gets crowded up there.

Skinner’s Loft  – 146 Newark Ave

Skinners Loft is a classic place to have dinner, since there is no bar on the roof it’s a very chill atmosphere to enjoy dinner under the stars.

Iron Monkey – 99 Greene St

This is a local favorite happy hour spot! It’s pretty busy after the work day in the summers! I actually like to come here for lunch on a nice day to enjoy a cold drink and get some much needed vitamin D. Great spot to bring a group of friends.

Gardens and Patios

South House – 149 Newark Ave

The patio at South House is great, it’s perfect for people watching and enjoying some drinks with the bae or friends! The cocktails here are on point and the serving staff is so friendly. I have a crush on all the bartenders there.

More Express Thai Cuisine – 281 Grove St

More Express is really underrated! You can get a delicious (and affordable) meal in their garden which is located in the back of the restaurant. It’s like an urban oasis! AND It’s BYOB!! #winning This is a great place for a low key family dinner, pretty child friendly.

Broa Cafe  297 Grove Street

Where can you get delicious and authentic Portuguese food, sit outside and also Bring your own wine?! BROA!! It’s probably the cutest spot in downtown Jersey City. Broa is a little small so we recommend going early or calling ahead to reserve a spot. They change their menu daily!

Mathews Food and Drink  351 Grove Street

At this moment, I dream of eating their delicious salads and having a drink on this patio. Today is canceled guys! see you there.

Roman Nose 125 Newark Ave 

Eat an italian home-cooked meal right on the pedestrian plaza. The Zucchini pizza is my favorite dish on the menu. Their wine selection is impeccable… I am going tonight for dinner. See you there!!

LITM 140 Newark Ave

Drink specials galore, events, great music and the best comfort food.

Taqueria Downtown – 236 Grove St

Kind of an obvious choice. Taqueria is always crowded because it’s so DAMN good. Enjoy a margarita and some tacos in their garden area, might have to wait to get a table on weekends.

Pet Shop JC – 193 Newark Ave

Delicious vegetarian food, drinks, dope crowd and outdoor seating! Nuff said. They do have live bands most weeks, so follow them on social media to stay up to date.

The Hamilton Inn & Hamilton Pork– 708 Jersey Ave

All time favorite. You can never go wrong with The Hamilton Inn located in a quiet block by Hamilton Park. It’s great for a cute date night, family dinner or even a birthday celebration! The Gondevas brothers own this spot and the family owned charm ads to the ambiance.

Raval – 136 Newark Ave

Location, location, location!! Sit on the Newark Ave Pedestrian Plaza, order some drinks and bites to share. Perfect people watching spot!

Atlas Public House – 130 Newark Ave

Also located on Newark Ave, the food at Atlas is beyond amazing! And the cocktails never disappoint.

Latham House – 299 Marin Blvd

Latham is perfect for a mellow night, it doesn’t get too crowded and the food is on point.

O’Leary’s Publik House – 788 Garfield Ave

O’leary’s is a local favorite hangout spot in Bergen Lafayette, they had garden sitting. It is a great spot for the whole family, they love kids there!! and the burgers are insane.

White Star Bar (Both Locations) – 230 Brunswick Street and 179 Warren Street

GP’s Restaurant – 236 Pavonia Ave

I love eating at GP’s in the summer time months. Delicious Italian food, great service and it’s located right across the street from Hamilton Park! Have dinner then head over next door to Milk Sugar Love!

15 Fox Pl – 15 Fox Place

Fox Place is reservation only, I’ve been dying to eat there! This is a great place for a special event.

Jack Miller’s Pub – 293 Academy St

The Hutton – 225 Hutton St

Love the hutton. Everything on the menu is amazing! Located in a quiet block in The Heights of Jersey City. Very chill environment! Kid friendly as well.

Square 1 – 283 St Pauls Ave

Square 1 is a perfect summer lunch spot, they have healthy options and you can sit outside! They aren’t open yet for dinner, follow them to find out when they will!

Battello Restaurant – Waterfront

Feeling a little fancy? Sit on the porch outside of Battelo overlooking the NYC skyline. You really can’t beat these views. I like to come here for birthdays and special occasions.

New Park Tavern – 575 West Side Ave

Classic Jersey City spot. Enjoy their famous burger outside in their garden!
