Last week was all about Another Man’s Treasure; we went from the Victorian days to the 60’s, getting to know the Franz’s, and getting the scoop on the showroom and shop. There was so much to cover that I needed another full week of vintage!!  A little more vintage fashions, and most importantly the story about the stylish peeps that work at the shop; Denny and Jenn which both have great stories.

We did this shoot at the AMT Showroom on Brunswick, both looks are from the 70’s. The first look felt like Meika and I were getting ready to go to Studio 54. This is a look I would never even dream of being able to wear! Thanks AMT for hooking it up! Now for the second look… Meika looks like a goddess and I totally felt like Elizabeth Taylor. “Now pour yourself a drink, put on some lipstick and pull yourself together!”

Can you break down the 70’s for us? The 70’s was a total mix because you have 70’s hippie culture, disco, punk, glam, which was not as popular here as in England; here we saw more of the disco craze.. think studio 54.

The 70’s is actually one of the most diverse decades. I actually have a book that I got in England naming the 1970’s the best decade in design due to its diversity.

In the 70’s people also started getting into vintage, wearing a lot of clothing from the 1930’s and 1940’s. people dont realize but platforms actually started in the 30’s as did wide leg pants.

What are we wearing? I am wearing a late 70’s silk sequined dress with believe it or not a pair of 1990’s platforms.

You are wearing a 1980’s sequined dress that I picked up in England. It’s a recent purchase… whenever I travel I usually pick up stuff. The shoes are black and white satin Yves Saint Laurent Shoes.

You are also wearing a 1960’s 20 style hat…the hat has a flapper feel and the feathers are horse hair. Your clutch is a 1980’s snakeskin patchwork clutch.

What about this one?  I am wearing a 1970’s Valentino silk gown with a 1940’s straw handbag.

You are wearing a 1970’s silk kaftan and 1960’s feather hat and 1960’s platforms.

Groovy!
